Do you see what's on her head? Have a closer gander...
And for a nifty $20.00, it's yours. Or you can grab your knitting needles and some leftover yarn from your stash and make your own nifty "Petra Headband" - or as the rest of the knitting world calls it:
THE ORIGINAL CALORIMETRY by
Kathryn Schoendorf. A free pattern, I might add.
And now let's take a left turn from that moment of product-plagerism to another astonishing advertisement in a popular clothing catalog. I found it while browsing for knitting inspiration. I am not usually very critical of fashion, since I am known for both my informal and formal sweatpants. (You can buy cashmere and velvet sweatpants. Really, you can.) But this picture, which was carefully planned and coordinated by paid fashion professionals, made me snort part of my fifth cup of coffee out of my nose.
Is is just me or is this outfit (and beard) (and hair) all wrong? ALL WRONG.
And now I'm off to dig out some old stash yarn for my next Calorimetry; thank you Kathryn!

Well, if he's going for the metro look, his outfit (and hair and beard) are all right. That cardigan is something special.
BOTH outfits are all wrong. Girlfriend, if it's cold enough out for knee socks, a calorimetry, AND blizzard boots, ain't nobody foolish enough to wear a short skirt!
What a bunch of weirdness.
I'm not saying Mr. LLBean Signature man is realistic, or that I expect to see him on the street. But I love it anyway:)
p.s. I resurrected my blog. Come visit. :-)
I can tell you that her nether regions are frost bitten if she's wearing all that tat but has bare thighs. AND, that guy... What the what? Pity the fool. I'm sure his friends had a good laugh when they saw him in that "fashion" spread. I get so angry when I see knitting plagiarism. I scoped some out around here last year and have since boycotted a yarn store (and spread the word that the owner is a filthy liar and a thief. Teach her to steal a pattern from my favorite LYS and then CHARGE $ for it!).
I'm not even sure what to think of that guy's outfit.
The sweater looks like something from the 70's...is that look coming back again? Not my favorite...
Um, me likey the hair and beard, and the cute lil dude sportin' them. . . but I have seen a lot of knitted items in "reular" catalogs lately. In fact, the sweater I am finishing up tonight during DWTS, I saw in a Chadwick's catalog this season. It's a Norah Gaughn pattern, so not quite sure if she sold the pattern to the mass market guys or not, but I'm SURE my hand-knit version will be 1000% better!
