It got even better.
I couldn't visualize the knitted eye-cord that the pattern asked for, so I ran to my local knit shop and found this instead. I'll attach it later. Like it? I wanted wood, but couldn't find anything.
Oh! And when I got to the register to pay for my bag handles, I found this Noro sock yarn in my basket,
and this Lorna's Shepard Sock stuff . It was far too much of an effort to find where it might go, so I just bought it anyway.
Actually, I bought two Lorna's because it was called Icehouse.

Hee! I love that shade of Lorna's. I also love the way the Booga bag looks with leather handles! I'm not a big fan of bags with knitted icord handles, this is the perfect solution!
Hey Rani, I think that The Sampler (fabric shop) has wooden handles, they may be smaller though. I love your new felted bag! Funny how things jump into your cart or basket isn't it... Dove chocolate always has a way of sneaking into my bags.
On an unrelated potential addiction, I grabbed an old crochet hook (not sure if I can mention the "C" word here as this is a knitting blog) that I had and headed to the local yarn shop. I'm starting to understand your yarn addiction, wow lots and lots of eye candy. Anyhow, I want to figure out if I can crochet those darn buckets that were felted that you featured awhile back. So if I end up with a truck load of "must have" yarn I'm coming to get you. That would be bad, very bad.

the bag looks great though. I love what felting does to things, though I have to say I do feel a little guilty when essentially it's deliberately 'wasting' wool.
I was taking to my mum (non knitter) about felting... she said... 'ooh what's that' I said, 'oh you know, shrinking things deliberately for the effect'.... she said.. 'oh yeah... I'm an expert at that'...
Yeah... um... I dont think it's quite the same thing eh....

Oh pretty bag! I like the handles a lot. Funny how yarn jumps around in shops isn't it? I like the Lorna's sock yarn pretty and good name.
I love how the bag turned out, and think the handles will look perfect with it--not to mention be more sturdy than the i-cord. I wish I could make the booga bag right... I've tried but it turned out looking horrid.
So glad to hear I'm not the only one 'attacked' by yarn while shopping at the LYS. This is a big reason I don't go to the LYS often... hubby would aim and shoot! :-)
The bag looks great. I think you made the right choice of handles.
It's amazing how yarn just happens to leap into our baskets without and help from us. Guess you did the right thing- if yarn chooses you, you have to take it home. :-)

The bag is beautiful, and I love the leather handles. My favorite felted tote bag has similar handles and it's the one I use the most.
HI Rani, thanks for your comment about the pattern on Woolgirl. I see you added that it was a different pattern. What pattern did you use. I love it and wish it was the one they sent. Don't you love woolgirl? I joined their club this year. Again, thanks for the clarification.
