I have my pattern set aside and am just needing the eyelash yarn for the beards. Unfortunately, all my eyelash yarn is pastel pinks/lavenders/blues. Not exactly manly gnome beardish colors.
I was planning on using a light worsted weight wool I have on hand. Either sports weight or worsted weight would work, I think. The worsted weight would probably end up being a tighter fabric, if you knit to gauge. The little guy I received for the Traveling Gnome exchange looked as if he was made with sport weight.
